It is great to see updates with new features of Groupanizer.
The current update to version 2.0 today came for us quite unexpected, and we were not ready to find our groupanizer site mostly out of service afterwards. I do not know if this has to do with a special configuration of our installation. As a result of the update our members were no longer able to access basic information such as songs and events. Moreover our customized design has been replaced by the new standard theme.
I managed to reconfigure access to songs by explicitely granting permissions in the modules again (were they reset on purpose?).
I am still fighting to get several features working again: Members see the "Please login page" after login - this seems to be the new homepage (even creating an action and trigger to the dashboard has not helped so far). Members have problems to access specific functions such as editing attendance status.
Help and feedback are welcome. Is our installation the only one fighting with the update?
Greetings and thanks for your feedback in advance.

Hi Reinhard,
I found it hard at first (I got my update a couple of days ago as a test site), but like any update, there will be some issues and changes. I definitely think the update is for the better, it'll just take a little getting used to.
I'm not seeing some of the issues you're seeing though, so perhaps my update was more painless than yours.
One thing I am going to suggest to Tom (who is probably reading this anyway) is that he gives us a little more warning next time, and we have advance warning of whats coming so that we can prepare our members before it happens with what to expect. But I think he's learning that the hard way from an email I got from him this morning. :)

Hi Reinhard,
Sorry that the upgrade caught you by surprise! We did send out several notices but perhaps they did not arrive successfully in your inbox.
I'll be happy to take a look at your site and resolve whatever is wrong (although I may struggle reading it in German..)
Cheers,
Tom
We had no notice either...

Hi Tom, When you type in our web address you don't get a log-in page any more, just this message: "requested page not found. You have requested a page that does not exist on this system." The Members Only link that appears on that page takes you to the log-in screen though.
Any suggestions for getting rid of the error message and restoring the log-in screen when first going to our page?

I'm out here looking to see if others have this problem. We do...and I know what causes it, and how to make a workaround, but not how to fix it.
What causes it is that your "public facing" page has a page title other than "Home". Change it to Home as a workaround. The problem, of course, is that then the title of the page that non-logged-in visitors see is "Home" rather than "Pittsburgh Threshold Choir" (or whatever else you want it to be).
What we need is a way to tell Groupanizer to look for a page whose "Menu link title" is "Home" and use that for the "public facing" home page. Or a way to tell Groupanizer to look for a page with "Page TItle" and use that. I've been looking around, but haven't found the place where that is set, so if anyone knows....

Under Site configuration >> Site Information you can define which page you go to by default. "Default front page:" at the bottom of the page. Does setting that to what you want to go to help at all?

Tom, Your mom would love to hear you spouting some German.
John Breckenridge, Bass First Capital Chorus, Soundscape,
You could preview this to customers so that they may prepare. All of our members are still not good at Groupanizer and the update changed the total look, so new learning curve for those not very far up the original learning curve.
