Hey folks, I wanted to get a feel for how others are using the marketing features in Groupanizer. My chours has had an account with Constant Contact, but upon getting Groupanizer we wanted to see if we can get rid of that extra expense.
I imported our contact lists and tried to create a couple of emails, one for singing Valentines and another for a recent performance at a local Women's Expo. I am more 'techie' than the average chorus member, but I'm not an HTML guru, and I found the email creation tool to be extremely cumbersome if you want to include anything but text. I had to upload any graphics I wanted to use into our gallery then past the links into the email. The average chorus volunteer to help with marketing projects would never be able to do this.
So I wondered what other users are doing? Pre-defined html templates? Just plain text? Something else I don't know about?

We're looking into adding a feature that will allow you to have relationships with your patrons, subscribers, etc in a future release of Groupanizer - we hear you!

Right now our contact has been all plain text, with links to our site for any more graphical content. I'd love to be able to send out more fancy stuff, and also to be able to have people subscribe to our contact list directly on the site (without me having to receive and email and re-enter their details)

We don't use the marketing features of Groupanizer. The current tools aren't very good and their are better options in the market place.
I have asked for a feature to sync to a third party marketing company (we use mailchimp becuase it is free upto a certain size) but I haven't seen anything come down the pipe yet.

We've logged this as a feature request - there are plans in the works for something like this, but we do not have an estimated release date yet (not sure if it will make it into the Summer '13 release yet..
