Members are not being notified of new events. Notification is supposed to happen when cron runs, but cron isn't running. Ran cron manually but still no notifications sent out. There is a notice of cron not running on status report. Help!

We also have stopped getting notifications of event update/creations when the checkbox is OFF. Our report shows cron completed, every 2 hours. I didn't change notification settings; what should I check? I ran cron manually anyway, no notifications were sent.

John - I'm seeing that cron is OK now on the Kordsmen site, so you should be OK now correct?
Diane - cron is working for you, and I created two blog entries to test notifications. The first one failed. Then I reset the subscriptions to blog with the Group Subscriptions page. The second one succeeded. So my theory is that your subscriptions got screwed up somehow.
Do you remember how long ago that seems to have happened?
Tom
Tom - thanks I did receive some test emails today. When I check my past emails, the last notification I received was May 8 so sometime since then. It is just this week that we really noticed them missing though. (I may have received notifications and deleted them since May 8)
I just now tried updating a calendar event and checking the suppress-notification box OFF - no email was sent. Are the events notifications different from the blogs?

Yes they are separate - each content type can be subscribed to or not by each person, although generally people set it up with Group Subscriptions so that subscribes everyone at once to some type. Are your people subscribed at the moment to Calendar Events?
Well they definitely used to be - though I messed up my admin menus at one point (thanks to Kari for fixing that mess!) and maybe something got reset. When I look at "Group Subscriptions" the only thing enabled is "Blog" so apparently I messed up something else. I've turned "Calendar event" back on. I don't want to do a test just yet (as my chorus will balk at receiving yet another test email) but I expect this will definitely improve things.
This Groupanizer experience is very humbling. Thanks for your help.

A few days ago I accidentally wiped out all notifications that were set for our "active" members by leaving some boxes unchecked in the Group Notifications settings. I have searched and searched but can't seem to find a way to re-subscribe just a specific group of members to a content type. Group Notifications turns it on for EVERYONE, including our "ex-members" that I have left in the system. And Group Notifications seems to only set notifications on for SCHEDULING AN EVENT, not UPDATING AN EVENT. Is there ANY way to do this short of editing EACH member's profile, going to their NOTIFICATIONS tab and adding the specific Calendar events and pages they've been getting updates on?
Well, I ended up doing the group subscription and choosing all the content types I wanted everyone to be subscribed to, then going into the Members list and filtering on "ex-members". I then edited each profile and deleted all their subscriptions. Painful, but there weren't THAT many and using Chrome tabs, I could get multiple members profiles up at a time and work through them quickly. And it turned out that choosing Calendar in the group subscriptions added both 'scheduling' and 'calendar event'.
