New Mail System - Do email aliases no longer work?

One of my members has an email alias set up for their work address, and tried to send an email to a specific address (that has a forum attached), and recevied the following message (address and member address replaced)

<address... @hcc.org.nz>: Command died with status 1:
“/home/groupanizer/domains/gsing_na1/staging/groupanizer_procmail_drush.sh”.  Command output:   Could not find an account for [member2ndemailaddress] Drush command terminated abnormally due to an unrecoverable error.  [error]

This used to work for him before the new mail system change...
Thoughts?

Multiple email addresses
If the "multiple emails" module is turned on, users will be able to associate multiple email addresses with their account, and the mail handling system will take this into account when receiving email.  This is really handy if some of your users want to send email to the lists from multiple accounts.
You'll find this stuff on each user's "My account" page, under the "Edit" tab:

As you can see, this module asks you to confirm that you really are the owner of each email address you add!  This will be done in the usual way - it sends you an email, and asks you to click on the link contained therein.
Note that the old "mailalias" module, which is nowhere near as cool, is no longer used.  It will eventually be removed from the Sing product.

Thanks Ian. I found that about 2 mins after posting.  It was something new between the early release and the final one I believe.

I have found that if users

I have found that if users had an email alias setup, it is no longer there if Multiple email addresses has been enabled.  A gotcha, it would have been nice to be have been warned about.

Hi folks, Sorry if this part

Hi folks,
Sorry if this part of the system didn't make it into the emails we pushed out.  Of course you will find it nicely documented here!

How do I turn on "multiple emails"? when I check the Modules permission page, it says enabled  (in fact it's greyed so I can't disable it).

However I don't see an "E-mail addresses" tab beside Account an Profile while editing.

Sigh. Thanks.

Thanks for the very prompt

Thanks for the very prompt reply Ian! I enabled the permissions and now the tab appears.

[I would suggest the documentation page specify both enabling the module, and adding permission.]

Its one of those things that gets over looked and yet it part of everything.  Every time you enable a module you need to set permissions

I finally grasped that all

I finally grasped that all the email aliases previously entered are no longer operating, and that there is a new module to register email aliases. After figuring this out, I set permissions as needed, found the new "Email addresses" tab, and entered a new email address.
I did get a confirmation mail at the newly registered email address, clicked on the URL to confirm the address, and was taken to an "Access Denied" Groupanizer page. I could not login from that page and get to the confirmation page.
I note that I was able to copy the URL from the confirmation note into a browser where I was already logged into Groupanizer, and was able to go to the confirmation page that way.
Do I have a configuration problem associated with login destinations etc. or is this a bug that should be fixed?

posting to the forum does not

posting to the forum does not initiate an email, the forum is just where messages are stored.  Try doing a normal reply to the message if you want to send a reply to an email

Ian, According to the

Ian,
According to the instructions for the new system as follows:

Configuring mail handling

You'll want some Forums
You're probably going to want some forums to organize your mailing lists.  Create them now, so they will show up in the "save it to" drop down list when you get to the next step.
For example, to create a "Members" mailing list, you'll want a forum called "Member Discussions" or something like that.  Pick any name you like.  To create a forum:

  1. Go to Admin > Content management > Forums > Add Forum
  2. Fill out the form and save

Setting up mail handlers
On this page, you can click "Add a line" to create a mail hander.   Enter the email account you want to create in the first box, under "When mail comes in for".  For example if your site is mychoir.groupanizer.com, type "members" to receive and process mail sent to "members@mychoir.groupanizer.com".
Under "Save it to", select the forum that will be connected to this mailing list.  (At a future date, we may allow other types not just forums.)
Under "Send it to", select the role, subgroup, section or person who should receive the emails sent to this account.  Note: mail will also be sent out if you create a forum topic through the web site, or comment on one!  If you want to select multiple items here, click the little "plus" button and it will become a multi-select form.  As usual hold down ctrl- or cmd- while clicking to select more than one item.
When  you're done, don't forget to Save Settings!
Ian, my understanding is that email sent to members will be posted in the appropriate forum discussion area and then sent out to all who have the role 'member'.   It works if I post a message for leads, tenors, baris or basses but not to those who have the role member.  Obviously a message to each of the four sections will cover everyone but it is easier to send to all using 'member'.

sorry I misunderstood your previous post.  I thought you were just posting to a forum and expecting it to be sent to the email.
I have been using the new mail system for sometime and have no problems sending an email to "members"

I just did a test message

I just did a test message from outside of groupanizer from my normal email program sending a message to members@bigsunchorus.groupanizer.com and it was emailed to all members(I received a copy) but not posted to the forum.  Hmmmm???
If I am in groupanizer I can create content in the forum to the sections and it is sent out and posted in the discussion area.
When you send email to your members what is your procedure?
