Did the defaults for notifications change in the last few days? We have an email address attached to a forum for our board of directors. Whenever someone sends to the "board" email address, everyone on the list gets an email immediately. Sometime within an hour, we get essentially a second copy of the message with the subject "Comment for forum topic:". It doesn't make sense to have notifications turned on for forum postings when the forum postings are generating emails already.
I don't remember seeing this before. Did a change to notifications get pushed out to our sites? How can I turn this back off?

This might not be new behavior after all. The notifications only come for replies to emails, not for the original emails. So messages with no replies don't cause the "double email" problem. How can I disable notifications for forums without disturbing anything else?
