The Repeat settings on an event in the Groupanizer calendar doesn't seem to work. I select the "Every" and "Weeks" options, save it and the settings don't stick, and the weekly repeats do not show up in the calendar.
Perhaps I am doing something wrong?
Bob

More information. The repeat feature works if you are entering an event for the first time. It doesn't work if you go back to an existing event and try to add the repeating dates.

NEW repeating calendar events (weekly) do not work for me now. They used to work.

I'm thinking I've never been smart enough to use them. I know there must be a solution.

I can enter repeating events in the calendar, however when the event has a specific start time, it gets changed every 7th or 8th repeat. Ugh!

Actually, the calendar does not change the time appropriately when daylight savigs time occurs. It should show 7:00 pm start time but when daylight savings time goes into effecxt, the start time for the event changes to 8:00 pm. When the time reverts back to standard time in November, the time changes back to 7:00 pm. The time on the calendar should stay the same (is 7:00 pm) when daylight savings time is in effect.

Lew,
I have been having the same problem with our rehearsal event each Monday starting at 7pm. In mid March the time changes to 8, in Novmember it goes back to 7 pm all by itself I have deleted the events and redid them several times. I hoping there is a fix for this as I do not want to change each weekly rehearsal manually.

The time problem with Daylight Savings is a known problem with Drupal v6. Expect that it will be fixed when the system is moved over to Drupal v7 with the summer release of the next version of Groupanizer.
As of now the solution is to create one set of repeating events for the non-Daylight Savings part of the date range and another set of repeating events for the Daylight Savings part of the date range.
Fortunately this is the last year you should have to do this. ;-)

So should the dates in March-Nov be set for 7pm (the correct time) or do I have to do 6pm in order to adjust for DST?

boy its been a while since I've done it so I "think" its for the correct time. I think the problem comes when Drupal sees repeating events going over the daylight savings boundary and try to automatically correct.
The dates you have to be concerned with are:
2013: March 10 & November 3
Edit: I just added events to my calendat for the period March 11 to the end of June and used the real time - it worked great

I am trying to repeat an event every first and third Tuesday. I am unable to get any repats, no matter what combination I try. It appears as though the repat function is not functioning at all. Any suggestions?
I really need this to work, since we are adding many activites to the calendar and they all need to be repeated and placing them one at a time will take forever.
Thanks,
Mike
Mike, I just created an event that happens every 1st and 3rd Tuesday and had no problem. Make sure you fill in all the required field for the repeating event:
Title:
Calendar Event Types:
From date:
To date:
Repeat;
Until: date
Advanced
Day of Week

Thanks for the response. I tried your suggestion with the following settings and it did NOT work, I only got the 2/21/2012 event:
Title: VLQ Rehearsal
Calendar Event Types: VLQ Rehearsal
From date: 2/21/2012 at 18:00
To date: 2/21/2012 at 19:00
Repeat;
Until: 12/18/2012
Advanced
Day of Week: First Tuesday and Third Tuesday
Could it be a permissions or module settings issue unique to my site?
Thanks, Mike
Mike, are you entering a new calendar event? I could only get a repeating event to work if I was entering a new event. I was not able to go back and edit an existing event to make it repeat.

Yes, I am trying it as a new event and no luck.
Mike
Go to Site Building > Modules > List Scroll down to Date/Time and make sure the following modules are checked:
Calendar iCal, Calendar Multiday, Calendar Popup
If any of these are not checked, check them, save the configuration (Save configuration). You will need to set permisisons for the modules as well, especially for any you just enabled.
Go to User management > Permissions and make sure the event, date/time and calendar modules have, at a minimum, Site Admin permission.

They are all checked on and have permissions set for administrator, which I am.
Any other thoughts?

I have the same problem - repeating events not working. I tried changing the settings you mentioned above but no difference so I've put them back the way they were.
Has anyone found a work around? I know I had this problem when I first added events and I don't know when/how it was fixed.
Any help gladly received.
Cheers

Make sure that when you are creating a repeating event that you are not trying to take and existing event and get it to repeat. That doesn't work.
You need to be creating a new event and setting it to repeat.

It's definitely a brand new event, trying to repeat every last Wednesday of the month.
Thanks

This might be something else. Theres a known bug.
Go to one of the last weeks that you repeated an event and change to week view. Can you see it now?

SORTED. It was definitely only creating 1 event rather than creating one each month.
SO, I made sure I selected something in every field - Every month, until x month, then selected months under advanced settings, and selected all the possible days, last wednesday then it created them all.
Thanks for your help Ian.

I was having this exact same issue, with repeat events not actually showing up. I tried what Katrina outlined and it created them all! Bamf!
I got excited that all the events got created and posted prematurely. So I should clarify.
I'm trying to make our Tuesday at 7pm 3-hour rehearsals show up on every Tuesday. It worked, in that it actually created events once a week, but it didn't work in that it only put the first one on Tuesday, then it built the rest of them to Monday. That is, until Daylight Time comes back; then they were showing on both Monday and Tuesday, starting at 9pm Monday instead of 7 and showing on the Tuesday because it went until 00:00 Tuesday. Why the 2 hour change? Who knows :) I suspected this dual-date issue was just due to overlap, so I built one starting at 5pm to avoid that and to workaround the 9pm thing, which worked. Maybe it's because of something like http://drupal.org/node/1693306 or http://drupal.org/node/1260380? Anyway...
So, I've done what other people in the forum have mentioned and built one set for MST with these settings:
and one set for MDT:
Which both did exactly what I wanted: rehearsals now showing on Tuesday at 7 through March 5, then at 6:45 starting March 12. It's not perfect, but at least it's up!
