Riser Placement

I just noticed that I no longer can access the riser placements created earlier this year.  When I click on the edit word I am sent back to the Members List page.
I also tried to delete an existing placement and was notified that the page did not exist.
Tried to create a new placement and was send back to the Members List page.

Any suggestions?

Both Places and User fields

Both Places and User fields blocks are enabled and all of the depends are enabled.  So that is not the problem.

Apologies folks - the new

Apologies folks - the new code was deployed by accident out to the production system, and until I run the update code, it will be mismatched with the database and therefore it will not work.  We do plan to release this code this week, since beta testing has gone very well.
The old code is back now.  You may have to clear your cache to see your old placements.
Let us know if there is any more trouble with this!

I'm still having issues.

I'm still having issues. Cleared my caches, and nothing is there. Get a message saying:
user warning: Unknown column 'filter' in 'field list' query: SELECT DISTINCT n.nid, title, changed, filter FROM node n JOIN places p ON (n.nid = p.nid) WHERE status = 1 AND type = 'places' ORDER BY n.title ASC in /home/groupanizer/domains/gsing_na1/prod/sites/all/modules/gsing/places/places.module on line 688.

Fixed! Seems about a dozen

Fixed! Seems about a dozen sites got skipped by the automatic upgrade.  Mystery to me, but I'm upgrading them manually now.
Cheers,

Having trouble with

Having trouble with permissions. From the help page:

  • Permissions - now you can decide who can see which riser placements, just like pages or blogs (technically speaking, riser placement is now integrated with the Drupal node system - places are nodes)

But - how do I go about setting permissions? I've never set permissions on pages or blogs, so I don't know how. (knowing how to set permissions on pages will be useful to me too!)
I have set "View any content" for members on the Permissions page for "Riser Placement". I can't see "view" in the massive matrix of user permissions in the  placement section  - only administer, delete, and edit (which are set for Site Admin, and delete and edit for MCE which is our music committee role).  It appears that right now  noone can see the list of existing placements (permission denied page) - even the system administrator can only create new placements.
If I bring up the page to Create a riser placement, I don't see anything like access permissions.
Thanks for any help.

Hi Diane, There are a number

Hi Diane,
There are a number of permission-related parts of the system, but the one you're looking for is "Content Access" - this allows you to set permissions by content type.  That is, decide who and see and/or edit pages, or blogs, or in this case riser placements!
You will find the "Access control" tab for riser placements at Admin > Content management > Content types > Riser placement > Access control.
On that page, you can check boxes to decide which roles will have permission to view or edit riser placements.
Make sense?

Hi Diane, Sorry you need

Hi Diane,
Sorry you need "view places" permission to see the places list.  That's the default setting but I'm reluctant to hit your "reset" button, because it would also remove permissions from your custom "MCE" role.  What is MCE?

Hi Torrey, Haven't rolled

Hi Torrey,
Haven't rolled back the upgrade.  A few people (including yourself) were missed in the original rollout, so I went in and fixed that manually.
If you're missing the "Content types" menu item, you are missing "administer content types" permission.  Easy to grant it to yourself.  :)

"view places"? Should that be

"view places"? Should that be in Administer > User Management > Permissions? I only have administer/delete/edit.

I also don't have a View

I also don't have a View Places Permission.  I have set Access Control for Places that give Members View Rights and they are not able to see it.
The Director Role and the Site Admin Role have Administer, Edit and Delete Permissions, but yet a person with the Director Role are not able to view places.  Currently only a Site Admin is able to view places.

I feel the need to issue both

I feel the need to issue both an enormous sigh of relief and an apology!
I discovered this evening that one of the tools I've been relying on has been leading me seriously astray.  It is a command-line interface to Drupal called "drush" - very cool stuff.  It lets you do operations to all your sites at once, like installing modules for example.  So it saves me a ton of time with 400+ customers to serve.
However, for a few months when it was saying "all sites" it was actually missing a lot of them!  So I would (for example) deploy a new module to all sites, and then discover later that it didn't actually get installed on all sites!
So the bad news is, I've been operating under a serious false assumption for a long time, and probably caused a great deal of confusion.  The good news is, from now on when I do something to all sites, all sites will (fingers crossed) actually have that thing happen!
Wow.

You're right - yours didn't

You're right - yours didn't get converted.  I did it manually just now - I can see them on your site.  :)

I have just been notified

I have just been notified that our members cannot view the riser placement on our Groupanizer site.   I followed the instructions below, but members still can't view the riser placement.

Pat Vincent, Site Admin, channelaire.groupanizer.com

You will find the "Access control" tab for riser placements at Admin > Content management > Content types > Riser placement > Access control.
On that page, you can check boxes to decide which roles will have permission to view or edit riser placements.

I also had to give members

I also had to give members View permissions for the Places Module under User Mangement > Permissions in order for them to be able to see them.  Just setting it in Content Access did not get it.
