Looks like I did something to break our site tonight. I edited one blog, then made a couple of calendar changes. When I logged in again, I am no longer directed to the Dashboard. I tried another account and got the same result. I searched the forum, and there was a suggestion go to Login Destination under User Management. However, I do not see this. Does anyone have an idea of how to fix this problem?

There was a Admin newsletter that came out a couple of days ago that mentioned that Login Destination would be going away very soon. It's possible that has now happened.
Some exciting new changes are coming though, read about them here: http://www.groupanizer.com/groupanizer-newsletter-june-2012-0
I'm working on the new way, hope I figure it out. If I do I'll shoot you a line.

Hi guys,
I believe this has been fixed. The "redirect" module (replacement for login_destination which always sucked) needed an upgrade. Tested and working well on several sites.
Cheers,
Tom
The Login Destination has indeed been removed... You need to uninstall the custom error module, then configure a message for the new module that was installed under Admin > Site Configuration > Redirect 403 to User Login.

I disabled, then uninstalled the "Custom Error" module. However, I am unsure how to configure the "Redirect 403" module. I have tried putting the following in the "Redirect Authenticated Users to:" box:
dashboard
/dashboard
http://www.mysite.com/redirect
I still get our public home page after I log on, with a members-only menu on the side.
What am I missing?

I have also had the same problem. I also disabled and then uninstalled. However I too do not know how to reconfigure to get redirection to the Dashboard upon login. If someone could clarify - in plain language ;) - I'd very much appreciate it. Karin
Found this answer on another page: http://www.groupanizer.com/destiantion-no-longer-dashboard
and it worked :)
Hi Karin,
That step-by-step tutorial for redirecting to the Dashboard page when logging in can be found here:

If you still need more clarification, let me know and I'll try laying it out differently. :)

Actually, you shouldn't have to redirect that module necessarily - the default behaviour of that module is to actually send it to the dashboard, so you're good (leave it blank). The Redirect part you see in there is simply where you can send it if an error occurs (access denied). But really, the login page (where it goes by default) is probably the best place to send them anyway (i.e. leave it blank).
So basically, in 'human speak', what the 403 module does is:
1) save the destination of where you were trying to go (dashboard or some other place in the website)
2) give you a chance to login to get there
3) assuming you log in successfully, it sends you right to the place you were intending to go in the first place (rather than the default front page).

Actually, you don't even need to reconfigure it.. (see below) :)

Just a quick note on this for anyone who stumbled across this thread looking for a different solution, if you are experiencing this redirect issue, and you have a login block on the *sidebar* of your public site, our recommendation is that you remove the login block from your sidebar. You can find a tutorial for how to do that here.
Cheers,
