A bit of background : we've updated our Song Status workflow to go through 4 stages : 0 (not submitted),1 (submitted - work to do),2 (submitted - minor issues),3 (passed). I've set the Song Status Checking info to allow Members to upload songs, and for them to be checked when they're in a level '2' state.
One of my members uploaded 4 tracks against songs he was wanting to qualify against. None of the songs were a level 2, so I expected him not to be able to upload the songs. No notifications were sent to the section leader for his voice part.
The section leader didn't see anything in the Song Status Queue after being followed up by the member, so looked at the members Song Status tab on his profile, listened to the recordings there, and marked them at the appropriate level (one of them ended up being a 2) .
Today, the Section Leader can now see ONE of the four songs in the Song Status Queue, the one he set to a 2.
The confusion I think surrounds the fact that I'd really like my members to be able to submit songs at any level, not just at a specific point in the workflow. If I set the submission level to be '0'. the songs only show at that level, not any higher level.
I have 2 enhancement requests:
- It would be good to be able to have the song submission occur for any point, or at a specific stage or later in the flow... eg, if I set it to 0, then it'll show at a 0,1,2 or 3.
- It would be good to have the SL notified every time a song was uploaded, even if it wasn't at the level I've set... that way, they will be able to keep track of it.

I've been testing our setup for song status uploads. One of our baritones uploaded two recordings: 1) Song A was at level 0 and she did nothing to change that level, and 2) Song B was at level 0 and she clicked on 3 to indicate that it was 'Feedback-ready.' I created a dummy section leader whose email was forwarded to me, and I received NO notifications that files had been uploaded....even though I COULD see and play her files, I would have had no way of knowing she was waiting for my feedback.
I understand there may have been some problems with this feature a while back but don't know if they were resolved. Can anyone enlighten me?

When you uploaded the file, did it say "Sent message to X checkers" ? Should have been a green status notice at the top of the page.

Tom - What is a checker? I got a question from one of my section leaders - when she approved a recording, she got an email that 3 checkers had been notified. She received the notification email, she is a lead section leader, and there are 3 lead section leaders - are they the checkers in question? We have not asked our members to upload recordings - most still email them - but some have been proactive and are using the system.

Hi Diane,
A "checker" is any member of the role defined as a checker under Admin > Groupanizer settings > Song Status Settings. By default, this would be section leaders.

I asked one of our members (a lead section leader) to help test this feature...She uploaded her recording but did not receive any messages about notifications sent to section leaders, nor did she or the other section leader receive notifications. Might the problem be that she's a section leader? I can design another test if needed.

Hi Carolyn,
I'm going to guess that the song status item in question was not in the "feedback-ready" state before the recording was uploaded.
So perhaps I should simplify the design of that piece, and just assume that any time a recording is uploaded, it is mean to be checked. What do you think?

Another thing to look at: do you have only one workflow set up for song status? We have noticed that when you have more than one workflow, this might cause a problem...
